The Hummingbird center attracts several of Costa Rica's 51 species of hummingbirds with feeders surrounding a quaint koi fish pond. If that’s not enough, visit our butterfly gardens that won't disappoint. See a large collection of orchids, found deep inside the rainforest. And view a unique habitat where our 60 degree Celsius hot springs comes bubbling to the surface; the source for our natural mineral hot spring pools.

Blue River Botanical Garden's mission includes developing a representative Costa Rican rainforest to serve as an education center to teach young and old alike the importance of conserving Costa Rica's incredible nature-offerings. The botanical gardens serve as an outdoor classroom for everyone to learn about the rainforest's complexity and value. The signs and pamphlets teach the species and the stories behind their genesis.
