Tour Description
From Blue River Resort & Hot Spring we drive less than 15-minutes up the mountain to a special, authentic Costa Rica farmhouse bordering Rincon de la Vieja National Park where we are welcomed by the Viales family. From here our tour commences as we set off hiking through the farm into the jungle, entering secondary forests, primary forests, past pristine waterfalls and rivers. We’ll observe the ecological diversity that abounds here on the northern slope of Rincón de la Vieja National Park, with an incredible views and a variety of flora and fauna. Animals include howler monkeys, sloths, tapirs, jaguars and many colorful birds. A goal of your guided tour is to form a special appreciation for nature and the many wonders inside Rincon de la Vieja’s north (Caribbean) rain forest.
Your hike ends back at the Vialle family’s farmhouse, for a well-earned Tico snack. Enjoy refreshments and sample cheese and corn-based tortillas, all handmade and farm fresh.
